Sleepers Newland Avenue

There's nothing I love more than food. Genuinely. And in particular cheese. I needed to share with you my light sharing lunch I had with my mum. Sleepers, both in Hull and Beverley have become my favourite places to eat. They offer everything from Nachos with chilli beef to Grilled Halloumi, pictures above. I like to eat a light lunch, possibly accompanied by a small (I mean large) glass of wine. What better place to visit than Sleepers, Newland Avenue. Over the past few years Newland Avenue has become a hive for students, food and night life. They do all areas very well, more specifically, food they excel in. From Jamaican Patties at Roots to Fine dining at Henry Yeast, Newland Avenue has you covered. But from me, the favourite, has to be 100% Sleepers.

Here we have Grilled Halloumi & Feta, Olives & Pita.

Coffee Confessions

Huge confession to make. I've not a fan of hot drinks. Ok. There. I said it. Even though i'm an office kinda girl, the whole 'fancy a brew?' thing just isn't me. I never wanted to make coffee or tea a part of my routine. One its calories I don't need. And Two I whiten my teeth, what a waste of time and effort it would be if I then drank tea and coffee all day long at work. But something has recently changed. Since the Hull Bloggers event in September Vita Coco has become this weekly treat for me. And honestly, I love it. Admittedly its the Mocha, but the difference with this is the Coconut Water within the Mocha. It makes the whole drink taste completely different. Its light and yet creamy. Its refreshing and not lingering. Vita Coco, you've changed my habit and i'm hooked. Well done.

Lypsyl Essentials Review

Matt Lip Lover? I have the perfect thing for you. If like me you're loving all the new matt lip colours that are so on trend, you may have noticed just how drying they can be on your lips. I've been looking for a solution to this problem for a while. I needed something hydrating but quick, easy and effective. I love the matt finish lips at the moment, but the after effects are purely dry, unmissable lips, ew! Ladies, we need to be able to pull off that look without the painful aftermath! Lypsyl is the answer to all our wishes!!

Here are the three Lypsyl's that I was sent to review on my blog.

The range:
Blue, Original. My Fav Smell.
Light Pink, Strawberry. My Fav design.
Dark Pink, Cherry. My Fav Colour.

I've even seen this meme floating around the internet, so its definitely a common problem!

So when Lypsyl sent me these three products I was honestly over the moon!!
I wondered if Lypsyl was able to solve my dry lips problem.
I decided to review them and find out. I wear matt lip stick almost every day. So for two weeks I have used Lypsyl every night after removing my make up. The results were great. My matt lip colour applied so much easier and the finished look was even smoother than before. Oh and NO MORE flakey lips after the matt lipstick! I can't believe it.

Here's me wearing a Matt Lippy!
This was taken while I was having a chill night, magazines, candy canes, and of course my new pamper essential; Lypsyl. If I had to choose a favourite it would be the blue original. The smell of it reminds me of being young and applying Lypsyl in the toilet at primary school!
Lypsyl is an essential for these cold winter months, and now an all year round go-to with its amazing hydrating powers, perfect for any matt lip lover.

Want to try Lypsyl for yourself?
Now available at Asda or Tesco.

Lypsyl has made it into my 2015 favourite. Stay tuned for my vlog!

Thank you to Lypsyl for sending me these lovely items!

Merryhide Launch Party

This was my invite, I love the design.

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the launch of a new brand of Handbags called Merryhide. I went along to the launch with my mum and we had such a great time. Firstly Merryhide was established in 2014. They have a simple aim. To introduce exciting, innovative and high quality designs and products into the fashion accessory world. The event was amazing. It was held at Salon iD in beverley.

The main concept of the Merryhide brand is a handbag that has many compartments that can be used all together as a big bag, or can be detached and used separately. In effect you actually get three bags in one. Currently you can buy the Merryhide mixer in 5 different colours. Pink, Black, Chestnut, Taupe and Aqua Blue. My favourite at the moment would have to be Taupe, or Black because I just love black so much.

I'll talk you through the launch so you can see how great it was.

This is inside the launch event at Salon iD in Beverley, great location, loved the setting and the placement of the bags.

Here is one of the Merryhide mixers! This is the black version, each part can be detached and used separately. What a great idea!! (mum if your reading this can you buy me one lol)

I love the black and the taupe bags, imagine a mix of the two!!

Heres the blue version, oh and a Merryhide cupcakes, you guys literally thought of everything!

These are some of the bags that were on the wall, as you can see there a mixe of all the colours, I took this shot so that you can see how they can be used together or separately.

Just when you though Merryhide's talents end, they put on the most amazing canap├ęs!
As you can see, presentation was so on point.
Please send me the recipe for the cheese and fig ones, AMAZE.

As seen before, Merryhide cupcakes!!! They were so tasty.

The drinks were equally appreciated, and guys, the lights behind the ice, i LOVE.

Here's just a long shot of the salon, so you can see how lovely the setting was.

I'd just like to say what a wonderful evening I had with my Mum at the Merryhide launch. The product you have launched is amazing, the concept of the bag is really useful and I HOPE my mum can get the message with regards to christmas. All bags are currently available at £165.00 which is such a good price considering the quality and design of the product.

I'm really excited to have been a part of the launch, and honoured to have been invited.
The brand is getting a lot of attention online and I love the story of the Merryhide brand.
You can take a look at the brand, story and bags at

Camilla, Scott, wishing you both every success.

Thank you

Neal & Wolf; Peace Collection Review

A few weeks ago I received this beautiful parcel of Neal & Wolf Peace Collection products to review here on my blog. Little did I know just how essential these products have become to my daily hair care routine. I'm literally gutted that they're nearly empty, but also happy because they can now go on my christmas list, yay (mum if your reading this then thats great)!

Something that really strikes me about these products is the packaging, the bottles, their colour, the text on the bottles and how they look in my bathroom. I really love the deep purple. The next obvious element is the smell, its very distinctive, quite a heavy smell. I've been complimented on the smell of my hair at least 3 times in the past 4 weeks. Who doesn't want great smelling hair in two effortless steps.

Having received a fair amount of hair products from the hull bloggers event, none of them stood out to me as much as this range that I was sent. Neal & Wolf, you're definitely on to something here with the candle and shampoo conditioner combo, its like the whole experience is new to me. As a brand they offer indulgence redefined, it could not be more true.

My hair itself feels healthier, softer. It smells amazing. You need to smell this stuff.
Another thing my mum noticed was the shine of my hair. The shampoo is quite thick as far as shampoos go, almost with a gel feel. But it lathers so well with little effort. The true magic of softness is locked in the 5 minute conditioning session, the results are instant.

All I can say is #EmbraceTheNight
Thank you Neal & Wolf for not only these products but showing exactly how you have redefined indulgence.

Vlog with further pictures of my hair and review details to follow...

Get the peace collection here.

The real question you should be asking yourself is squeeze or melt. The picture above is squeeze, purely squeezed onto a cracker, and oh thats a mini tomato. I like to call this one posh cheese and tomato. Thats on a poppy seed cracker. However my favourite way to eat Primular original cheese is to melt it in the microwave and dip ciabatta or doritoes in it. (i would have inserted a picture here but I ate it before I could lol) I first discovered my love for Primular Cheese at the Hull Bloggers event earlier on this year. Its become such a staple in the family fridge and my mum even buys it without asking now. I literally love the original, however I am partial to the cheese and prawn flavour.

A little taste of Coconut nspa

The only way I can describe this product is like a little drop of summer in a bottle. For me the smell of coconut just reminds me of summer, Ibiza, Mallorca, Marbella, sunbathing, cocktails and of course coconut oil. There is honestly nothing better than getting back from work and running a deep bubble bath complete with nspa coconut aroma. Although its not summer and those cold dark nights have set in, its not too late to reflect on the summer times of the year. I recommend this product, a summer playlist and a fruity drink. Close your eyes, and you could be anywhere.

Something i'm even more impressed by is the brand, Natural Spa. The brand is stocked in Asda, I love how I can pick this up at the same time as my food shopping! I love their idea of 'affordable indulgence bottled'. I love the smoothing finish that the in bath/shower cream leaves. When i'm running a bath everyone compliments the smell coming from the bathroom. I'm on my second bottle of Nspa Coconut, the bottle is huge, it lasted around 2 months of everyday use!

This product is available here.

This product was from the Hull Bloggers Event!
Thank you to nspa.

Saffron Hart Salon Experience

Today I went to have my hair done by Sam Jones at Saffron Hart Salon in Anlaby. The whole thing left me feeling like i'd had a new experience in the world of hair pampering. If you've read my blog before you'll probably already know how much I love all things hair orientated, especially styling my hair. I was invited to come along and review the Saffron Hart Salon. I had a cut, blow dry and curling session with Sam, and as you can see from my selfie, i'm loving the results.

Poser alert.

The finished look of curls and waves!

Heres a shot from after my trim and blow dry, sleek and smooth!

Let me walk you through my salon journey...

Here are the basins, they're so comfortable around your neck and having my hair washed was literally so relaxing. I even got a head massage, Sam knows what she's doing!

Now to introduce the products that were used, the Wella Professionals Elements Shampoo and Conditioner, refreshing and yet light, I need to get this set to use at home.

Following the hair wash and head massage I made my way over to Sam's section,
(also how cute is the wall paper).

The Styling Products

1. Wella SP Lux Oil, Sam applied this on my freshly washed hair to moisturise and strengthen the inner cuticles of my hair.
2. Balmin Volume Mousse for Strong Hair, Sam used this before blow drying at the root and top of my parting to give volume where it is most needed.
3. Balmain Session Spray, After blowdrying and curling my hair Sam sprayed the curls to allow this product to help hold the style.
4. Wella SP Luxe oil Light oil, Sam finally finished the look with a slight spray of this oil, this ensures that the hair is still shiny.

BEFORE & AFTER sleek look.

My treatments were priced at a total of £34.00 when done by Sam*

Marble Everything

Ok, so the whole of instagram seems to be covered in all things marble. When I came across this iPhone case company I wondered why anyone would pay £25 for a phone case. I decided enough was enough, I needed to see what was so special about these cases. Order placed. Waiting. Order arrives. Anna jumps up and down at the quality of the item, the precision of the printing and the high gloss finish. Not to mention the amount of people asking me "where is your case from?". Ok Madotta, you've really created something truly beautiful, flawless and literally irresistible. The only down side? I want them all.

Get yours at
The box is also amazing, and I think they would make a brilliant gift.

Blanx Original Review and Giveaway

Greetings fellow blog lovers, i've been working with a teeth whitening company called BlanX. As you can probably tell from previous posts I love writing about teeth whitening products and sharing my results and reviews with you. My teeth and smile are something I take very seriously. BlanX use a natural arctic lichen formula in their products, something that really puts my mind at rest when trying to achieve a whitener smile. I don't want to damage my teeth in the process of whitening them, this is why I always use BlanX. If you've read my blog before you may have seen me mention BlanX on several occasions. This company is my absolute 'go to' for at home teeth whitening. Using BlanX requires little effort, just a few changes such a using BlanX instead of your usual toothpaste, or adding in another product such as the Intensive Whitening Treatment to your daily routine. Firstly i've reviewed the whole BlanX Original range, as shown above. Scroll down and keep reading for the giveaway!
To document my review I decided to take before and after pictures over a period of two weeks using Blanx everyday in the place on my usual toothpaste. Every other day I have also introduced the use of the Intensive Whitening Treatment. I wanted you to be able to see just how simple and easy it is to get amazing results when using such a great brand. The picture on the left is at day 1 and the picture on the right is at day 14. As you can see my teeth are much whiter and i'm honestly astounded at the results.

So BlanX have send me the full Original range to review, they have also sent me the range again to giveaway to one of my lovely followers/readers. Another thing to bear in mind is that some foods can help you to get whiter teeth. BlanX have been working with  Natasha Corrett of Honestly Healthy and have even created some useful and informative youtube clips. Did you know that strawberries help to naturally whiten teeth?!

Makeup Storage

I posted this picture of my makeup storage on my instagram and a lot of people have asked me where its from so I thought i'd do a blog post about it. I absolutely love makeup storage. I think this is due to all the beauty bloggers and make up artists that I follow. They always have such a beautifully laid out workspace. I wanted to replicate something like this but on a smaller scale. I don't have tons of makeup so I didn't need to buy a really big storage set. I wanted it to look full but not overflowing. I looked online and found this! Basically the storage is actually stationary storage from a company called Muji.

Muji have a website and ship to the UK so I have linked all the storage below. This storage is actually three parts all stacked on top of one another. I did actually do a post on this storage a while ago, but I've turned the top storage the other way around so it looks slightly different. As you can see from the prices its not expensive but is so effective. The arclyic finish is just so high end, it looks professional and is easy to use. The storage is well made and actually quite heavy. Ive used it literally everyday since the day I bought it. I think this is a great investment if you are keen to store your makeup this way. Friends always ask me where its from when they see my room for the first time. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about the storage. Also I have linked my old post here so you can see what I mean about the separate parts of the storage. There are bigger versions of this storage, I just found that this was the right size for me. To find other types of storage I would google 'muji acrylic stationary storage' or use the stationary links on the links provided below. They can even be used separately as shown on the other post. The service from Muji was brilliant. The items were well packaged and the delivery was fast. Hope this answers your questions girls!
